Network and learn at the UKISUG Digital Insights Symposium

Published on

Organisations are becoming increasingly digitalised, and more SAP users are looking to embrace cloud, automation, and analytics technologies. This year’s Accenture technology vision for SAP solutions argues that the pace of transformation is only set to increase, as companies need to be pushing comprehensive, ongoing innovation as a business imperative.

To help SAP users on their transformation journey, the User Group will be running its first Digital Insights Symposium on Wednesday 2nd September from 8:30-3:30pm, which will be the final event in the UKISUG Digital Showcase.

The virtual event will begin with a keynote from UKISUG Chairman, Paul Cooper, looking at how organisations can navigate a changing SAP landscape. Afterwards, the sessions will split into four breakout streams for the rest of the day. The sessions will cover hyperscalers and cloud, S4 and automation, HR and analytics, and SAP skills and licensing – ensuring there’s something for everyone during the event. There will also be plenty of breaks throughout, so attendees will have plenty of chance to virtually network with peers.

The hyperscaler and cloud breakout sessions will advise users on what they need to make the most of SAP cloud solutions, detailing migration options and tips on accelerating innovation with S/4HANA. SAP’s Head of the UK Centers of Expertise, Simon Carpenter, will offer an overview of SAP Industry Cloud, and there will also be a session on how to extend business processes beyond SAP.

The S/4 and automation stream will offer valuable advice for users embarking on an S/4HANA digital transformation journey, or those looking to implement automation and monitoring. Rene Cedat, SAP Head of Customer Value Experience for EMEA North, will present an SAP innovation and optimisation pathfinder, while Vodafone will highlight how the company is delivering faster, high quality SAP updates.

The HR and analytics breakout sessions will cover everything from implementing EXMIT, with Qualtrics head of EX Solutions, Sally Winston – to saving on BW/4HANA migrations and overcoming the HR challenges of COVID-19 with SuccessFactors. Ann Garbutt at Mercury Engineering will also present on how the company aligned employee compensation to its business strategy.

The SAP Skills and Licensing stream will explore the current SAP skills gap, which includes an expert panel on SAP skills featuring Paul Cooper, Head of IS at Burtons Biscuits and the UKISUG Chairman, Vincent Dunlop at BluewaveSELECT, and Lindsey Rowe, Head of People and Programmes Office, SAP UK. The panel will discuss the current SAP skills landscape, as well as some of the challenges organisations face when it comes to acquiring and retaining the technical skills they need to implement and manage their SAP estates both now, and in the future.
