UK & Ireland SAP User Group appoints three new board members

Published on

London, U.K. – ___ April 2020– The UK & Ireland SAP User Group (UKISUG), an independent not-for-profit organisation representing all users of SAP software, has today announced the appointment of three new UKISUG board members following a membership vote. Due to the strength of this year’s electoral candidates, the board decided to elect the two nominees with the highest votes: Cheryl Millyard and Greg Turner. Additionally, Conor Riordan has been co-opted as a board member, due to his specific skillset and experience in ERP. As board members, they will be responsible for the governance of the User Group, as well as helping to set the organisation’s strategy and direction.

“It is fantastic to have seen such a high calibre of nominees this year, and the successful candidates will further strengthen the board,” commented UKISUG Chairman Paul Cooper. “We look forward to drawing on their diverse industry experience to help evolve the User Group and ensure we continue to deliver value to our members for years to come.”

Conor Riordan has more than 20 years’ experience of working with SAP. As ERP Director at Pfizer, his role involves developing digital strategies to improve business and financial performance. Conor is currently a Committee Member of the Ireland User Group and will continue in this role, helping to arrange the group’s meetings and run the Ireland symposium. He is keen to input into the strategy of UKISUG and look at initiatives to help users on their migration to S/4HANA.

Cheryl Millyard is Head of the Business Service Centre at Gloucester County Council and ran the first project to implement vanilla SAP within the UK Public Sector in 2006. Since then, Cheryl has been building Gloucester’s SAP portfolio, and has experience deploying everything from Fiori to Concur. She has also co-chaired the Public Sector special interest group for the last seven years.

Greg Turner is VP ERP, Finance and HR at Burberry and is responsible for S/4 environments, as well as other cloud products, including Ariba, Concur and SuccessFactors. He has been involved with UKISUG for two years and spoke at UKISUG Connect last year about Burberry’s move from ECC 6.0 to S/4.

“In light of these changes, we must also recognise the decades of voluntary service given to us by long-standing board member and past UKISUG Chairman, Alan Bowling. Alan decided to step down from the board earlier this year after an incredible 20 years of service,” added Cooper. “Many of those years have been spent on the board, helping to shape the User Group into what is has become today. We wish him all the best for the future.”
