UKISUG Connect 2019 in the Media

Published on

This year’s UKISUG Connect surpassed expectations with almost 1,100 attendees and in excess of 100 sessions designed to help users get the most out of their SAP investments.

Over three days at Birmingham’s ICC, the event focused on encouraging members to collaborate, learn and network with like-minded members, share knowledge, and ask their burning questions on all things SAP.

UKISUG Chairman Paul Cooper kicked off the conference, highlighting some of the key findings of this year’s annual member survey. This was covered by Computer Weekly, which focused on users’ awareness of Qualtrics following the company’s acquisition by SAP last year. For diginomica and Computer Business Review the focus was on customer trust, an issue Paul highlighted as something the User Group and SAP UK&I were both working together to address.

Another big topic of discussion at this year’s conference was the 2025 maintenance deadline for ECC6 and users path to moving to SAP S/4HANA, covered by Computer Business Review, diginomica, The Register and ComputerWorld UK.

As always, there were a number of customer stories talked about at UKISUG Connect. diginomica spoke to John Mahon, Executive Director, IT Technical Operations & Finance at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, about the company’s successful SAP S/4HANA deployment and its ground-breaking approach to team management. Computer Weekly spoke to Simon Bacon, SAP operations manager at QD Stores, about how the retailer has deployed SAP Fiori to improve its employee user experience.

This year we also hit the airwaves for the first time, as the highlights from the event were discussed in this week’s edition of the Computer Weekly Downtime Upload podcast!

As next year approaches, we are already preparing for UKISUG Connect 2020 and registrations are already open. Also, if you are interested in speaking or exhibiting next year, you can register your interest on the website.
