This year more than 500 SAP customers and an additional 150 SAP experts are anticipated to attend the conference for three days of education, networking, collaboration, and influencing.

90 Hours of Education for Business Impact

Since its founding in 1988, UKISUG has been the independent voice that represents the SAP user community in the UK and Ireland. This year’s event theme – Influence is Key – recognizes influence as a pillar of the User Group, alongside learn, network, and collaborate.

“Influencing has always been high on the agenda for UKISUG,” says Craig Dale, CEO, UKISUG. “Whether we’re influencing SAP or influencing agendas from a partner perspective, it’s all to add value to SAP customers. We’re always here for our members and working on their behalf to get the best value from their SAP investment.”

UKISUG Connect 2018 offers delegates 100 sessions across 15 topic streams, delivering more than 90 hours of education. The program starts on Sunday afternoon with deep-dive workshops to equip delegates with the skills and know-how to make an impact in their organizations, including workshops on How to Influence SAP Development, plus hands-on sessions on predictive modelling with SAP Cloud Analytics and creating SAP Fiori launchpad content. Delegates in the market for a new CRM solution will have the opportunity to look inside SAP C/4HANA and evaluate its potential for their organization.

Breakout sessions start on Monday with topic streams ranging from Financial Excellence and SAP SuccessFactors to SAP Business One and Creating Disruptive Advantage. In addition to the SAP expert-hosted sessions, there will be informative presentations by SAP customers who will discuss their recent SAP projects, and share tips and lessons learned. A dedicated stream has been included this year for SAP S/4HANA with sessions about product roadmaps, best practices for implementation, and recommended approaches to migrating data.

New to UKISUG Connect, the topic stream Optimizing Your SAP introduces customers to tools – such as SAP Transformation Navigator, SAP Pathfinder, and SAP Improvement Finder – available to help them get the most value from their current SAP landscape, as well as manage new implementations to become intelligent enterprises. Also new this year, the Platform & Database stream provides valuable sessions, such as How to Extend SAP S/4HANA with SAP Cloud Platform and ABAPand Delivering Business Value through Innovation on SAP Cloud Platform.

In this broad program, delegates will find material of useful relevance to make an immediate impact in their workplaces.

“We’re moving rapidly toward 2025, and although that’s still seven years away, there are lots of changes going on that customers need to be aware of,” says Dale, referencing the SAP Support Strategy. “If a delegate can walk away with one tip or piece of knowledge that helps make their job easier and helps them understand where their organization will be going with SAP in the future, that will be a big area of value.”

A Look at How SAP Strategy Affects Customers in the UK and Ireland

In the opening keynote on Monday morning, Adaire Fox-Martin, member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, Global Customer Operations, will talk to delegates about innovation intelligence and the key ingredients of an innovation mindset. Later, she will be joined onstage by Brian Duffy, President of Northern Europe, SAP, in panel discussion hosted by Paul Cooper, Chairman, UKISUG, about SAP’s strategy for the EMEA North region. Delegates will also hear from Jens Amail, managing director of SAP UK & Ireland, who will explain the impact of these messages for customers in the UK and Ireland.

As a motivational speech for delegates before their departure on Tuesday afternoon, guest speaker Ant Middleton will present the closing keynote about the importance of leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Ex-Special Forces and Chief Instructor of television’s popular “SAS: Who Dares Wins,” Middleton will share his personal story and talk about what his experiences have taught him about resilience, mental strength, and survival. Following the keynote, there will be a book give-away and signing.

UKISUG Celebrates 30 Years of SAP Community

In between sessions, delegates can visit the Exhibitor Zone and talk with some of the 75 SAP partners and experts on site. This year, additional space has been added to the show floor for an Innovation Zone with demos and interactive presentations.

Networking has always been a key aspect of UKISUG Connect. That tradition continues again this year with two main networking events in program. On Sunday evening starting at 18:00, delegates are invited to stop by the event venue for a Networking Reception. It’s an opportunity to meet up with colleagues and enjoy hors d’oeuvres before the official conference opening on Monday morning.

SUGFest, the conference’s premiere networking event on Monday evening, is back again this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the User Group. Delegates are invited to come to the venue to enjoy an evening of live entertainment, excellent food and drink, and the good company of fellow SAP professionals.
