'Influence is key' - previewing UKISUG Connect 2018

Published on

It is two months to go until the start of our annual user conference UKISUG CONNECT 2018. This year’s event is a particularly special one as we celebrate our 30th Anniversary.

We will again be returning to the International Conference Centre in Birmingham from the 11th-13th November, beginning on the Sunday with our popular workshops followed by a networking reception.

Over the years the conference has continued to grow, where today we bring together more than 500 SAP customers and 75 exhibitors, offering over 90 hours of education delivered by more than 150 SAP specialists. For 2018, the theme for UKISUG CONNECT will be ‘influence is key’, with a core focus on helping users influence their organisation and SAP.

UKISUG chairman, Paul Cooper, will kick off the Monday keynotes with his opening speech. In his speech, Paul will be updating attendees on the User Group’s activities over the last 12 months and explaining how we will support members moving forward.

Other keynotes will come fromSAP execs including Adaire Fox-Martin, Executive Board Member, Global Customer Operations and Brian Duffy, President of Northern Europe. Jens Amail, SAP’s recently-appointed Managing Director for UK & Ireland, who will be sharing his top priorities for the UK market in 2019.

On the final day of the conference, Ant Middleton, Ex-Special Forces and Chief Instructor for the Channel 4 show Who Dares Wins, will also be sharing his remarkable story and offering important advice on leadership, resilience, assertiveness and strategic thinking that work in both the military and the workplace.

Over the duration of the conference, delegates will be able to select from more than 100 different breakout sessions covering everything from digital transformation to SuccessFactors and S/4 HANA, compliance, creating disruptive advantage, supply chain management, payroll, the future of HR and user experience – ensuring that all attendees have the opportunity to learn during the conference.

Additionally, we’ll also be launching a new steam on “Optimising your SAP” – looking to help users understand how to get more from their SAP systems and offer support on how to plan for the future.

Plenty of SAP customers will be sharing insight and deployment stories during the event, including Jaguar Land Rover, Boots, Dunelm, Pets at Home, Birmingham City Council, Dorset County Council, and Tata Steel.

And of course, Monday night will see the return of the immensely popular SUGFest, where delegates can network and enjoy a live comedy club, retro arcade, a “top of the pops” live music stage as well as a casino and bar.

Activities will be split across all three days, ensuring there is something for all SAP users in every department, from payroll to user experience professionals. For more information, you can follow us on Twitter, or visit the website. Places can be booked here.
