How to migrate to S/4 HANA and accelerate digital transformation

Published on

Digital technologies are transforming the world as we know it, and the pace of change is quickening at an unprecedented rate. In order to stay competitive, businesses are racing to adopt and integrate new technologies – though many companies are playing ‘catch up’. Deloitte recently found that nearly 90 percent of managers and executives expect “great” or “moderate” digital disruption, however fewer than half say their organisations are adequately preparing.

For SAP users, S/4 HANA will likely be a step on their digital transformation journey. However, migrating from existing infrastructure brings with it some challenges of its own. In order to give SAP users a clearer idea of how to migrate to S/4 HANA efficiently, quickly and effectively, UKISUG is hosting an event on the 7th of March in Maidenhead that will guide users through the process.

A range of experts in S/4 HANA deployment will be sharing their experiences and offering advice, drawing from examples of companies that have already made the leap. Firstly, Simon Williams from SAP consulting firm itelligence UK will present an ‘S/4 HANA Sanity Check’; sharing experiences from his team on how itelligence’s customers have overcome implementation challenges and successfully deployed the business suite.

Also sharing his experience first-hand, Stuart Kahn from UK entertainment retailer TOMY Toys, will explain how his company migrated from SAP ERP to S/4 HANA. Stuart will talk through the process – from the initial decision-making to implementation, and the lessons learned so far.

Tim Cashmore and John Barnard from SAP will also be at the event to explain how to prepare for moving to S/4 HANA, and address concerns on cost, management and how it will affect core business processes. Additionally, Tim and John will present on SAP’s joint initiative with the User Group to create an ‘enterprise architect community’, which will encourage proactive collaboration between IT architects and decision makers. To this end we will be running a joint seminar on 28th March on this very topic.
