It will be interesting to see what SAP does at a practical level to help customers. The press release from SAP noted that customers with existing on-premise licenses would still be liable for support and maintenance fees. This isnt a surprise as in many ways all customers would be doing is moving their SAP environments to an SAP datacentre. However, it will be interesting to see if any customers look to use the cloud extension policy announced last year as part of a move to utilising SAPs subscription based cloud service.
