TechEd 2013: A look into the future

Perhaps unsurprisingly, HANA was a key focus at the event. Diginomica intimated that SAP has now moved the HANA-as-application platform view to the centre of how it presents its strategy. The company offered a detailed view of HANA as a driver for industry use cases, and how it can fit with todays Hadoop and Big Data architectures. SAP also further boosted its Big Data credentials by announcing a new partnership with SAS, whereby SASs analytics software will run on HANA.

Mobility was also a big theme coming out of TechEd. Biz Tech Magazine highlighted the launch of version 3.0 of SAPs mobility platform, which places an emphasis on open-source standards and multiplatform compatibility. PC World gave us a teaser around the upcoming launch of the cloud edition of SAP Mobile App Protection, offering businesses a solution for mobile device, app and content security in the cloud. In addition, SAP revealed a new secure mobile browser and announced that users of theHANA Enterprise Cloud servicecan now securely access business content and documents with the new release of SAP Mobile Documents.
