HANA is the jewel in SAPs Crown at Sapphire 2013

Published on

Key amongst these was the news that SAP announced the general availability of Business Suite on HANA. The company further announced that it will be building out the HANA platform and ecosystem, and shipping a raft of new features. This seems to be a pretty crucial development for the platform, as it allows users to really take advantage of the hundreds of applications that are being built on HANA.

The company went on to announce more offerings in the mobility space, with its new enterprise mobility management product family,Mobile Secure. This promises increased security for the devices, apps and content used by businesses on the go. A key part of this announcement was the launch of a SaaS edition of Afaria mobile device management service, and analytic dashboards from SAP's BusinessObjects. The cloud based offering aims to be a more nimble approach to handling the BYOD conundrum.

In the BI space, SAP also announced the debut of Lumira, a self-service business intelligence platform that replaces theVisual Intelligence product it has on offer today. While the business case for the product remains the same, Lumira now has native support for SAP's HANA in-memory computing technology.

It is clear tosee that HAHA is a critical part of SAPs future product strategy and that the company continues to make strides in the areas of cloud and mobility. We will no doubt hear more at our annual User Group conference in November
