Welcome back to the UKISUG General Newsletter, I hope that 2023 is living up to all your expectations and you have kept to your New Year resolutions? You may have noticed a few changes, mostly that you are receiving this in February and you didn’t receive one in January. Well, following feedback from our Member Survey, we’ve decided to alter a few things around here and change the way we communicate.
From now on you’ll receive a newsletter every other month, so your next one won’t be hitting your inbox until April. The aim of the new look newsletter is to provide you with information about the User Group, what we’re up to and how you can get more involved with events, resources and the overall community. This month we’re focusing on refreshing what you know about UKISUG and the ways you can get involved. Keep reading to find out more.

We’re now two months into 2023 and we’ve got a whole host of exciting things lined-up. Make sure you keep your eyes on your inbox for any event invites and updates we send your way. We have some amazing events coming up over the next few months including our 2-day UX Workshop next month and our Data & Analytics Symposium in April. Our full events calendar is available here.
I would like to conclude this month’s newsletter by thanking Michiel Verhoeven, the outgoing Managing Director of SAP in the UK and Ireland, for his support and advocacy of our community over the last few years. Earlier this week we had the opportunity to welcome the new MD - Ryan Poggi, who is returning the UK and Ireland, we are looking forward to building on the trust and collaboration developed over the last few years. Thank you for being part of the UKISUG Community! Until next time Paul Cooper Chairman UK & Ireland SAP User Group |

Would you like to reduce the complexity of your data and move it to the cloud quickly, simply, and cost-effectively, while ensuring ongoing sustainability in energy use, operations and data management and turning sustainability concepts into action? Then this virtual session is for you! Join DMI on March 9, to learn from Tobias Eberle, Chief Revenue Officer of Data Migration International, how the Information Management Platform JiVS works hand in hand with “RISE with SAP” for sustainable, cloud-based operations.
JiVS forms part of a modern data fabric strategy and data management approach focused on reducing complexity, increasing productivity & efficiency, and reducing costs. The platform also contributes towards more sustainable data management by helping companies retire their legacy systems and thus significantly reduce their data footprint as well as the amount of energy + cost required for data storage.
Using this approach, companies like GE Power, Hawle, Energy Transfer and many more have gained game-changing benefits. You, too, can:
- Retire your legacy systems with continued 100% access to historical data
-
Integrate your data with various platforms
- Reduce your operating costs by 80%
- Reduce your TCO by 25%
- Reduction data migration effort by 50%
- Reduce your energy waste, cost and environmental footprint
-
Reduce the data volume for transfer to S/4 by 90%
- Ensure that your S/4 systems and HANA databases remain lean
- Increase your data quality, business agility, efficiency, profits, and sustainability impact
Hear directly from an SAP customer at the Enterprise Architect SIG and hear about their experience with this innovative approach.

| Our community is spread all over the UK & Ireland, across a whole host of different industries and job roles and that's brilliant! The problem is, we're a nosey lot at UKISUG and sometimes we get a bit curious about where you work; that's why we encourage our members to host some of our events. Hosting gives your community a plethora of options for attending our SIGs, Roundtables, etc.
Hosting isn't as scary as it sounds, all you need to do is provide refreshments and a few nibbles, we'll do the rest. From badges, speakers and sponsors, we'll facilitate the day and make sure everything goes to plan. The best part? You get to show off where you work and get your hands on a free UKISUG Connect Pass with Accommodation. If you'd like to find out more about how you can get involved with hosting one of our events, just email support@sapusers.org |
