Welcome to your October News
Chairman's Note
Welcome to the October newsletter, as I write this Ireland has just moved to the highest level of Coronavirus restrictions and large swathes of the UK are rapidly moving in that direction. This weekend the clocks change and we will be in the season of no daylight after-work, traditionally it can be a difficult time of year and with the extra stresses and strains of COVID-19 it could be even harder. Make sure you are looking after your personal wellbeing and that of your family and colleagues. We are still organising wellbeing webinars if you think that might help your mental health.
Earlier this month I sat down to chat with the new Managing Director of SAP in the UK and Ireland, Michiel Verhoeven and we covered a wide range of issues across the S/4 space, the Digital Access Programme, Brexit, dormant customers and customer success. It was refreshing to see the MD willing to engage on topics that can at times be uncomfortable for SAP to discuss and respond to concerns raised by the members on the call in the Q&A. If you would like to catch up on this chat visit the event page where you will find the full recording. We have had record numbers of members engaging in our autumn programme of events and there are still plenty of opportunities to access learning & networking over the next six weeks. Next week sees our second virtual symposium themed around Data and we have recently announced our Digital Insights Symposium on 2nd December. The platform we use for the symposia has been selected to enable great content, presentations, a virtual exhibition area and the opportunity to network with other members and partners.
Next week our member survey closes, if you have not yet taken the opportunity to give us your feedback on the User Group and key topics like the journey to S/4 and licencing please do. At our Board Meeting last week we took some time to look at some of the early feedback and we are all looking forward to seeing the consolidated results once the survey concludes. Every three years the Board reserves time for a full review of our strategy, this will be happening in the Spring and so this year's survey will be an important barometer for that activity.
If you get chance for a walk this weekend the autumn is providing an amazing backdrop of colour and with only a week to go until the User Group Photo competition closes remember to take your camera!
Stay safe and keep washing your hands!

Building a Relationship of Trust with SAP During our UKISUG Connect Annual Conference at the end of 2019, which seems a lifetime ago now (back in the halcyon days when we could come together in large groups to learn, network and collaborate), Paul Cooper, UKISUG Chairman, revealed results of our Annual Member Survey.
Part of Paul’s keynote highlighted that only 8% of our members, SAP customers, considered SAP as a trusted advisor. To address this, a strategic initiative was created between UKISUG and SAP to look at how we can build a relationship based on trust between you, the customer, and SAP.
We ran two workshops involving direct customers and SAP personnel, who represented different lines of business, to investigate the elements that build and break trust, discussing areas of concern on both the SAP and customer sides of the relationship.
