Welcome to your July News
Chairman's Note
Welcome to the July newsletter. I hope that you are all staying safe and alert as some of the Coronavirus restrictions start to relax.
I would like to start this newsletter by thanking all the User Group Staff and Volunteers for the amazing job they have done over the last four months as we switched from face-to-face events to delivering an amazing array of online events! In addition, I would like to thank SAP and the Partner community for the support you have given us pulling these events together.
The number of events tends to decrease over the peak summer months, but we already have some great events planned for the autumn including two online Symposia. Remember you can see our upcoming events here. The biggest piece of local news in the last couple of weeks is that SAP has announced a new Managing Director for the UK and Ireland. I would like to wish Jens well for his return to Germany, the User Group appreciates the support he has given UKISUG over the last two and half years. He was the first SAP UK&I MD to assign a full-time liaison to the User Group and he has also invested significant time and resource into joint trust workshops aimed at building improved relationships between SAP and its customers. Earlier this week Craig and I gave a warm welcome to Michiel Verhoeven, the new MD when we had our first virtual meeting. We look forward to working with Michiel to build on these customer relationship initiatives, at a time when many organisations are facing a great deal of uncertainty.
A key strategic imperative for the User Group is that we represent your views and provide events and content so that you get value from your membership. Each year we run a large membership survey over the summer to get your feedback, this is a really important piece of work and helps drive how we run UKSUG and the events that we deliver. Please take the opportunity to influence our activities by completing the survey when it arrives.
From time to time during the year we will send out smaller surveys, these are designed to test the water on key topics to help us with influencing SAP and allow us to respond to media enquires. If one of these does find its way into your inbox please try and complete – we do value your feedback!
Have a great summer – and remember, you can continue to stay connected to your SAP user peers in this time using UKISUG Jam. You can access the quick how-to guide here. Stay safe and keep washing your hands!
